My Christmas Tree

Now I's gonna tell you about my Christmas tree!

OMD! What a weekend we had. Mom started decorating the Christmas tree Friday night and that's when the drama started. When Mom pulled the tree out of the corner to put lights on, it started falling! She knew there was a crack in the stand, but when she and our friend J put up the tree Wednesday, J said it was stable. Now we think he was just ready to get tree sap off his hands and go get the beer Mom was buying him for helping us with the tree ;-)

Anyways, Mom had to prop the tree up, go get a new stand, get our neighbor to help us put the tree in the new stand (it's really big and heavy so Mom needed help). Then she could finally start deocarting. She got the lights on Friday night and then Saturday we started putting on ornaments.

Midi helped Mom unwrap the ornaments from all the tissue papers. I tried to stay out of the way (can you see me?)

Mom has lots of ornaments, but I's gonna show you some of her favorites.

Mom is from the gulf coast and she LOVES New Orleans. So, she has lots of these fleur de lis thingies around the house, including this one on the tree.

For some reason there's a pickle on the tree. Mom says it's an old tradition. I dunno about that.

There's lots of cats on the tree. I guess that's cause Mom has always had a cat and she's had Midi for 13 years! This cat Mom got in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive. She said it was the only thing she could afford!

A few years ago she got on a reindeer kick....

Another cat - this one is really pretty, but where's the pug???

Cat - one of Mom's friends gave her this because it reminded him of Midi.

'

Another cat!

Finally! The pug! The one and only pug ornament I might add!

The full tree....

Here's the buffet in the dining room. Mom was a dancer, so you'll see more about that in a minute....

Now, for the Nutcrackers. I said earlier that Mom was a dancer. Well, she was a belly dancer. What's that? Mom? Oh, ok. She was a ballet dancer - apparently that's kinda different. Anyway, there's some big thing about nutcrackers and Christmas and Mom has a big ol' collection of them.

So, that's it for the decorations! I hope you had fun looking at them.

But before I go, let me tell you about the rest of the drama. Sunday it started getting really cold (it had been in the 70s), but Sunday night it was going down to like 19 or something! When Mom tried to turn the heater on nothing happened. So, we had no heat for the night or the next morning! We were all snuggly in the bed and didn't want to get up Monday morning. Luckily the heater guy came and fixed the heater... when he got there I tried to get him to play with me.

How could he not play with me and my froggy??? Ok, he threw it for me once, but I still felt neglected.

Merry Christmas everypug and persons!!!! We's headed to Mobile tomorrow. So, snorts & kisses till next times!

Secret Santa Paws!!!!!

I was gonna post about my Christmas tree and stuffs but when Mom came home at lunch we had a big box addressed to me!!! (oh, yeah - and Mom). I was so excited!

The box had lots of presents in it so me and Mom opened them up. The first thing we found was this little bag with treats in it!!! It was full of treats! That must be why it says "Joy" on the outside!

I couldn't wait to try them out and I was not disappointed!!!

Then we opened another present and I gots this snazzy tie!

Mom even got some presents! She got this cool sign that says "Go Saints" and a pug hook to hang my leash on (ok, maybe that's for me) and a portrait of moi!

How pawesome is that?!?! You wants to know who my Secret Santa is don't you? It's Punchy and the puggies, Chloe, Zoey, Rosie & Marty! Wasn't that sweet of them? Thanks so much - I loves my pressies and Mom does too!

I apologizes that Mom didn't take better photos but she says she had to get back to work. Thanks again!!!!!

Award! and Snowman

My friends Sophie & Dixie & Harley gave me this award. I's not sure if I should be insulted or nots but I think nots. I think it's cool. Apparently the doggies who get this award, they's eaten his/her own poop, another cats poop, vomit, won't sit, stay, lay down or come when called.

So, I's giving it to some of my other bloggie friends.

Rejoice in your disobedience and be happy you have humans who in spite, or maybe because of your disobedience love you!

I's giving it to:

Pearl cause I know she likes to be bad!!!

Oh, and here's a moving picture of me today with my Snowman. He's as big as me!!! I usually play more but I was not really wanting to play so much today. I wanted to go out and poops.

More Christmas!!!

Guess what I gots last night!! A tree! There's a tree in the house!!!! Mom says I can not pees on it though. Meanie.

This is what it looks like right now. We's not decorated it yet. It's really big! I's excited. Midi was excited too, she loves Christmas trees.

Oh, guess what else I got! I gots a card in the mails from my friends Sophie, Dixie and Harles. I been getting lots of cards but this one made my Mom laugh because of a funny note and because Harley's picture looks so "debonair" whatever that is.

We puts their picture on the refrigerator cause it makes us smiles.

Mom wanted to get a picture of me in my scarf for you to sees.

I gots the scarf from Generation Dog! That's also where Mom gots me this cookie that she used to make me look at the camera. I love gingerbread man.

See the love??

Later, pugs and people. Next time hopefully the tree will be decorated!

To Sophie, Dixie and Harley's Mom

Me and my mom just reads your bloggie and we's sad that you are having mean people say mean things to you. So I's gonna let my mom talk to you here instead of posting a really longs comment!

First off, Wow! I hate to hear that you are having a bad day or week or that the inconsiderate comments have built up to your breaking point. Remember this - most people are so self-absorbed that they have no idea that what's coming out of their mouth could be offensive. That's not an excuse - but maybe next time say "Hey, you're being an ass!" ;-)

You know, pretty much any dog - given the opportunity - will eat poop and/or vomit. It may be cat poop or dog poop or rabbit poop, but they will eat it. Harry has been known to eat his poop (although I think often it's to hide the fact that he pooped in the house). Of course he'll eat cat poop any chance he can get! And he's always had regular meals.

Pugs are stubborn. Remember that too! Harry can sit and that's about it - and that's usually food-motivated behavior. I could try harder to teach him "tricks" and commands, but so far I haven't. I don't think that makes him a bad dog or me a bad owner. He's 23 lbs. so he's not going to knock anyone down if he doesn't do exactly what I want him to. So, I'm just not too worried about it. If I had a doberman or a mastiff I would look into training, but I think my pug can go without.

Now, Sophie and Dixie were both rescued from puppy mills - and puppy mill dogs are notorious for neurotic, unusual and otherwise undesired behavior. I read your blog regularly and I don't see anything that's too bad. Your girls are special - not because they aren't perfect but because they were taken out of horrible situations and given the chance to be loved. They are sweet and loving and that's all that matters.

I don't know what to tell you to say to the people who make inconsiderate comments or even what to do to try to improve the pugs' manners, but I want you to know there's an entire community of people out here who understand and are here for you whenever you need to vent.

We love your pugs just the way they are!!!!!!

Award!!

My good friend Clementine (oh, yeah... and Winston) gave me this award. I's so proud!

Christmas Decorating

I gots my Christmas collar on!!!!!

Mom is finally decorating for Christmas! I was worried Santa Paws would not come see me if there's no decorations out for him to sees! We also finally mailed outs our Secret Santa present. I sure hopes it gets there in times!!!!

Ok, so I wants to show yous some pictures of the decorations. Mom just started, so this is just a little bits.

A few years ago, BP (before pug), Mom got into this green ornament phase. She really likes this color so she mixes it in with some silver and gold in the dining room.

She really likes this one, she hangs it froms the light thingie.

Here's some pictures of me! When Mom gets more stuff out she'll put Midi pics up too.

Here are my pictures with Santa. Sorry, Clementine... we's really just friends now. Well, Maggie still has the hots for me, but what's a pug to do?

Ohhhh, I loves this decoration. My auntie gave it to me last year.

I was so tired afters the decorating.

I's gonna put up more pictures after Mom decorates some more!

Snort at you later!
