Tallulah Tuesday... 2 Times the Fun!

So Mom's been really busy lately. Too busy apparently to type up blogs for me and Harry. So, since today is my day I'm going to update you on the goings on around here.

TWO weekends ago, I got to be an only pug. For a little while.

Mom took me and me only to run a few errands. Don't I look good as an only pug?

Harry wondered where we went, but I just acted like I couldn't hear him. This is my innocent look.

Of course the illusion was shattered when Mom took both of us to the dog park.

As you can see, Harry had to take his Tiger. Like our car seat isn't crowded enough already.

Of course it was Mother's Day when we went to the park, so Harry and I tried to be good for Mom. We even posed a little bit for the camera.

It was really tough getting comfortable on our way home. Tubby sure does know how to hog the car seat.

I finally managed to push him over a little bit so I could have room too. All in all, it was a pretty good weekend.

Then this past weekend, I got to be famous!!!! This weekend was Do Dah Day. Maybe Harry's mentioned it before. I had never heard of it before I came to live with my Mom, but it sounds like a lot of fun for dogs! Mom said Harry and I couldn't go because she would be working the whole day on Saturday and would be there for over 12 hours! So, to make up for leaving us all day on Saturday she spent lots of time with us on Friday.

We got up really early and went to the park where Do Dah Day takes place. There were some other people there and some other dogs. Some dogs had furever homes and some dogs were still waiting on theirs.

Then there was this guy from the TV who was talking to people and putting them on TV. I got to talk to him! I told him all about how I got rescued and then my Mom adopted me. Oh, and Mom told him how people needed to come to Do Dah Day and buy t-shirts and bandanas and stuff to help other dogs who need homes.

We don't have video, but I'm gonna let you see pictures of me in my pretty pink bandana.

Cute, huh?

Harry got to go on the TV and talk about donating pet fur to make booms for the gulf coast. That was OK with me though because he wasn't on the TV with Mom, he was with some other lady.

AND it's type-casting anyway. Everypuggie knows Harry is hairy and he sheds more than any other pug in the whole world. Want proof? Mom furminated both of us Friday night so she could take our fur to Do Dah Day to donate it. This is how much she got from me.

THIS is how much she got from Harry. That's not a sandwich bag, y'all. That's a pretty big ziploc bag!

Being on the TV was the only real excitement that day. The rest of the time we just hung out and looked cute.

We DID get to play in the back of a golf cart but Mom wouldn't ride us around. Mean Mommy!

I hope you all had a fun weekend! We'll try to get around to everypuggies' blog soon. Mom keeps complaining about being tired. If she would sleep 20 hours or so a day like me and Harry do, she might not have so much to complain about!

Payin' It Forward and My Brush with Royalty!

Hey pugs and peoples! I guess I gots to apolize again for Mom not helping me post. It was the Do Dah Day this weekend and she was really busy leading up to it. We started working on this post last week, but then she gots busy helping all those animals who don't have homes, so I guess I can forgives her.

First, I wants to tell you about a package I gots in the mail a couple of weeks ago. It was from my friend Rosie and her peoples. It was part of the Pay It Forward exchange. It came right around the time of my birthday and Mom got confused about who sent it and why (she gets my fawn girlfriends mixed up some times). If she had read the POSTCARD inside, it would have been obvious! Mom's kinda slow sometimes.

Anyways, for those of you who don't already know, the Pay It Forward exchange is fun and easy to play. Here is the concept...The exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and 'pay it forward' in their own way.

So here is how it works...The first 3 people who comment on this post and want to play, please email me your mailing address so that I may send you a surprise.

Then all you do is post a Pay It Forward Exchange on your blog, link back to me, and send the first 3 people to comment on your post a little surprise. It does not have to be expensive, store bought or even handmade. It can be whatever you want to send to make someone smile.

I knows you wants to see what Rosie sent me, so here it is:

I got treats, lots of treats! And a toy!

And I gots this cool shirt! It's says "Stud Muffin" - yeah, that's right!

Mom got this really cute change purse she can put my treats in and that funny magnet that looks like a foot. It's got sand in the toes! Those two things are from Rosie's peoples' trip to Punta Cana. (See the postcard Mom didn't notice for like a week?)

Thanks, Rosie and her peoples! We can't wait to pay it forward!

So, in other big news, I met royalty!!! Do Dah Day royalty! Every year, Do Dah Day crowns a king and queen (of the pet variety and the human variety). I went to the park last week to see the crowing of the pet king and queen and met all kinds of nice doggies!

See the white doggie? Her name is Pink and she's a Great Dane puppy. I's gonna go ahead and tell you that her big brother Blue (and he is BIG), who is also a Great Dane, won King. But, I gots no pictures of him or the queen. Cause I was a little smitten with Pink.

And she was a little smitten with me!

Oh, did I mention she can't hear anything? How can you not loves her?

Well, that's all for now. Here's one more piccie of me at the park. Hope you all has a great day!

Pugs on Parade

Hey there pugs and peoples! I's back! No more talking about Midi T. Kitty cause this blog is all about me! (although Mom says to tell you that Midi is doing good - she has a more normal water and peeing routine and she's taking her pills)

So, it looked likes it was a busy weekend for alls the puggies out there! Don't you just loves this time of year when our peoples start taking us more places!?! Saturday morning my friend J came over and Mom packed up a big bag o' stuffs for us and we took a car trip down to this place called Oak Mountain State Park. It's like 30 minutes or so from where we lives. They was having a pug party there! It was called Pugs on Parade and it was a fun raiser for Alabama Pug Rescue. Oh pug was it fun!

It was in this area that was right on the water and had lots of shade.

They had these funny games you could play. One had this big scary pug and you had to throw these bags in his big toothy mouth!

Then there was another giant pug but this one looked nice. You had to throw these big rings around him.

I gots kinda tired of walking around and went and stretched out on my blanket Mom brought us.

Yeah, I liked hanging out in the shade.

There were puggies there dressed up. Look at this cute little girl.

Lots of gettin to know each other.

Mom tried to take a picture of me and her while J was snoozing on the blanket. She's so silly!

That night we was exhausted! Mom left me to go to some concert but I gots to hang out with my friend J. We slepts on the sofa together until Mom got home.

Sunday we hads to go get the t-shirts ready for the Do Dah Day. I don't has pictures, but I spent ALL DAY with my boxer girlfriends Maggie and Laila. We hung out while the peoples folded all those shirts and then we wents to my favorite restaurant, Rojo and chilled while the peoples ate and had cold beers. They would not give me the beer, but I got a chippie or two!

Fun weekends all around I think. Hope you puggies all have fun weeks this week!

Do Dah Day 2008

Do Dah Day was yesterday. My mom is on the board of directors so lately she's been giving a lot of Harry Pugtime to Do Dah Day. I try to be patient and understanding because I support the cause. I am a rescue pug, you know... and Do Dah Day benefits local animal shelters.

Friday morning Mom made us get up REALLY early. After a nice walk and breakfast, Mom dressed me in my Do Dah Day t-shirt and we went to the park. There were some other dogs there and a TV crew! The news people were promoting Do Dah Day. Mom let me model my t-shirt on the TV again and I got in some other promos too. I'm a superstar!

Saturday morning Mom got up REALLY early again. This time when she left, she left me! Oh the horror... being left at home on Do Dah Day. Apparently since Mom is a staff person, she can't take me 'cause she's so busy. I was sad.

But then!!!!!! My friends Maggie and Layla came and rescued me from a day alone with the kitty. Their mom came and put a bright yellow bandanna on me and took me to the Do Dah Day! Ha! I got to go anyway!

After we had been there for a little while I ran into my Mom. She was so excited to see me. I tried to act aloof, but I gave in and snorted all over her and gave her kisses. She hung out with us some.... and she even gave me a ride in her golf cart and bought me doggie yogurt! It was so much fun!

Here are some pictures.

Me and Mom... she had some funny thing on her head, not sure what that was about.

My girlfriend Layla and her frisbee

That's my other girlfriend Maggie.

Ok... gotta go take another nap. Do Dah Day was exhausting!

~Snorts & kisses,

Harry P.

Superstar

I hate to jinx it, because it hasn't happened yet... but Mom said I'm going to be on the TV. The Do Dah Day is a month away so they are really working hard to get the word out about how great it's going to be. Tomorrow morning a Do Dah rep will be on this show called Good Day Alabama on Fox 6 to talk about the event and show off this year's t-shirts. Well, since this is the first year they are selling Doggie tees, Mom said I would go on and model them.

I'm kinda nervous!

Will let you know tomorrow how it turns out :-)

Oh, Mom said she will NOT be on the TV with me. Something about it being OK for pugs to be pudgy but it's not OK for her to be. I don't know what's she's talking about because I am NOT pudgy. I'm puggy.

Do Dah Day approaches

Lately Mom's been talking more and more about this "Do Dah Day" thing. From what I can gather, it is some kind of GIANT party for dogs and cats that my Mom helps organize.

She showed me this video from last year but I ask you... where are the pugs?

(Note from Harry's Mom: Do Dah Day is May 17th and raises money for homeless animals in the Greater Birmingham area. Check it out at dodahday.org )
