Poor Harry! Ya know, I'll let ya in on a little secret...

When mom knows it's time for me to poop but I can't, she rubs my sides and tummy all fast and giggly. First it makes me fart up a storm and then BINGO, I gots to poop! She always laughs when I start farting. I can't figure it out, but whatever.

Pfffrrrt!

Harry Tries a New Dog Food

Harry's Mom here. I know the subject of dog food is important to all of us since we probably put our pugs' dietary needs before our own. So, I wanted to tell you all about a new food that I just bought for Harry.

Now, let me preface this by saying I'm not an expert on the nutritional needs of pugs nor am I one to do a ton of research to figure out, down to the last ingredient, which food is best. I also don't have unlimited funds to spend on Harry's food - but that's why I'm pretty excited about this food.

Harry blogs a lot about his visits to Generation Dog. We go there for treats, baths, toys, etc. The one thing we haven't gone there for is food. They do carry some very fine food, but the price point has always been a little higher than what we have in our budget. At least until now. Harry has been getting Nutro Ultra for Small Breeds - and we have to schlep all the way out to PetsMart to get it. And while we love that PetsMart gives money to our community, including Do Dah Dah; the fact remains that they are a huge chain and they do engage in some practices that are questionable.

So, here's our opportunity to find a quality dog food at a good price - and support not one but two small businesses!

Harry is now eating Dave's Naturally Healthy from Dave's Pet Food. From what I've read online, Dave's is a small company out of Massachusetts. Their pet food is made from healthy, natural ingredients and provides a balanced diet for our pampered pups. The best part? It's no more expensive than what I was paying for Nutro - and it's much less than some of the higher-end brands.

Harry's just excited because cheese is listed as one of the ingredients! Thanks to our friend at Generation Dog for introducing us to this new food!

Presents!

I must have beens a really good boy lately because when Mom got home the other night look what someone had left in my mailbox!

That's right. Not one but TWO packages! Both of the packages smelled really good too, but one smelled like my darling Clementine, so I opendeds that one first.

There was all kinds of fun stuff in there! Including some yummy treats for me! I went straight for those. Mom had to act quick to get them before I gobbled them all ups!

Mom made me calm down long enoughs to pose with my pressie from Clementine.

She sents me a sweet Christmas card and some treats and some bookmarks and a Santa Bobo..... hey, wait. Bookmarks? That's what those things are with pugs on them? That must have been from Winston. I's gonna let Mom keep those!

They also sent me a card that says "Second time's a charm?" on the envelope thingie. Apparently our mailperson sent the package back the first time. They were probably jealous! Who can blames them?

Thanks Clementine and Clementine's Mom. Oh, yeah... and thanks to you too, Winston.

Who do you thinks the other package was from?? My buddy S-Dog!

Check out the party mix he sent me. That pug knows how to party, let me tell ya! Course Mom doesn't and she took the party mix away from me claiming it was for Midi. Like S-Dog would send Midi treats. Those cats on the package? Those were party pinata kitties. Silly Mom.

Yeah, there's something for Mom there too...

Check out the woofle he sent me though! That thing smelled like a big ol' bowl of maple syrup. It tasted really good too!

I woofed that thing down before Mom had a chance to "ration" it (that's what she calls it, I call it withholding my treats!)

No crumbs left behind!

Nom nom nom!!!

Thanks, S-Dog and S-Dog's Mom!

Louis Satchmo Blues

Hey there pugs and peoples. After takings in your suggestions and weighing all options, Libby's Mom has named the new pug. Please head over to Libby's blog and welcome Louis Satchmo Blues.

In other news. It's cold. It's really, really, really cold here in Alabama. I loves it. I runs around outside and I snuggles when I's inside. I's snuggling with the Momma right now.

This was me snuggling earlier.

New Year, New Puppy

Hey there pugs and peoples! I hopes everypuggie and person is having a great year so far! I's already had a big adventure and I knows you's on the edge of your doggie beds waiting to hear abouts it!

First let me just tells you that me and the Mom and the Midi didn't do anything exciting New Year's Eve. Mom and Mr. J had a big party the night before so all my friends could come see me before the end of 2009. I thought that was really nice of them. They even invited some peoples who had never met me - but everbody loved me. My friend Linda who used to live next to us (also known as the treat lady) was there and I was so happy to sees her! I stayed by her side for a long time just to let her knows she shouldn't stay away so long. Mom didn't take pictures though. She was too busy she said. I says "hmph!"

So, we were tired the next night and we just watched the TV which was fine with me and the Midi.

The next day Mom asked me if I wanted to go see my (Alabama) girlfriend Libby. Of course I said "You bet!" So, we got in the car and drove down to Mohnt-gummery (aka Montgomery). Libby's Mom finally decided it was time for Libby to have a brother. Turns out she has a real brother - and he was looking for a furever home. We went to sees them this summer. You might remember me tellings you about it.

So, we droves down there and then we went to the puppy's house. It was a nice little ride to from Libby's house, so we got comfy in the back seat.

Once we got there, he and Libby got along great, so we took him home with us (well, Libby and her Mom did. Me and Mom were just along for the ride).

Here he is.

Libby and her Mom are still trying to decide what his name is. Mom says he looks really serious. So, I guess he needs a serious name.

Libby and I were exhausted after that. We relaxed on the way back to her house cause we knew we were in for lots of playing when we got that little guy home!

We spent the rest of the weekend resting and trying to stay warm. Me and Mom wants to thank everpuggie and every person for all of your sweet and caring comments on our last post. Midi keeps us guessing. Today she ate breakfast and she's been being kinda nice to me. See?

Later pugs!
